About the project
Professor Kwok authored a research paper on inferring the size of financial bubbles using options data. My goal is to expand on his work in various ways. Initially, I focused on do some code and obtain plots with the latest data in order to materialize our results. I just thought it could be amusing to share our ideas and our results through a website.
The context
I am a 19 years old French student in his last year of Bachelor's in Computer Science. I am in exchange at The University of Sydney and they let us the opportunity to do an internship. We have some additional workshops and some assignments and it is considered as a unit of study.
Why finance ?
During these years of Bachelor, I really worried about what I would like to do in my life and after thinking, talking about it, watching videos, learning and thinking again, I am pretty sure that I would like to work in finance. Why ? I understood that I want to apply my mathematical and coding skills to a field where there also are non-scientific knowledge required to do an appealing cocktail.
And finance is exactly a field where I can do that. It is also a field that is one of the biggest pillar of our capitalist societies. I love that it implies a lot of challenges, pressure and competition.
